Internet Collaborative Music

I’m very intrigued by this new musical development — people from all over the world collaborating on a single song. Somebody must be doing some heavy-duty editing to make this work. Here’s an example, the song “Sittin’ On The Dock of the Bay” performed by people who have never even met:

for some reason a lot of these don’t come through except in spurts, like when I only had dial up. However this was on PBS and it was a huge undertaking. The filming crews had to travel all over the world to get these. They didn’t just phone them in. It’s very inspiring. Wish I could remember the name.

BTW check out the ‘stringed instrument’ google thingy today. You can actually play it, provided you know what note the weird strings coorespond to.

  2. All I can say is try it again. Depending on the time of day, the ‘net might be over-loaded.

Tried it again and it still stalls. No problem. I’ve seen the hour long PBS documentary on it already. Have you played with the Google Guitar logo. Only 2 more hours to go before they change it to something less musical. I think it’s a hoot. The strings, however are not tuned in any manner that I have heard of.
